Come Out Of Your Something Closet
Good morning. Take a sip of your coffee, tea, or favorite religious beverage. Let's talk about coming out of the something closet. You have ideas. They have ideas. He has ideas. I have ideas. Why are these ideas sitting in a closet? Please share someday.
Good ideas awaken engineers like Delroy at 2:39 AM. Hey Delroy, they (i.e., employer, friends, family) do not care if you tell them. They want to know the real Delroy. He should find a circle of five different generations who will listen to Delroy. This mash-up of people will provide fuel for innovation that he will have never experienced.
I hear innovative and creative people share ideas all the time. They come out of their something closet. They don't know more. They only share more and as a result...spend more time on creativity than others. They are comfortable in their own skin. They are "good" knowing they did not think of the idea. They know the "name of the game" is to learn how to share more. Do you think Steve Jobs thought of all his ideas? Do you think he kept his dreams locked away on his laptop?...
I hear them say. Hey Ben...I want to do something, but I am afraid what other people will say. Lately they have ideas for social media, business, or careers...but they have other ideas too. Ok. Will your something make a positive difference in our world? Yeah. Why? Figure that out. Then share it. Create a higher purpose for it. The higher purpose will out last what anyone can say or do to you. Even if they want to fire you, hate you, or try to destroy you.
When you share. You find others who do it too. You create your own space together. You can lead, follow and learn. All at the same time. Someone will always be better than you in your space. That's ok. Don't hate. Form a team. Learn from each other. How are you going to survive the storm?
What ideas are in your something closet? You signed up to hear from me. You can opt out at anytime. That's one cool thing about any of this stuff (i.e., social, cloud, etc). I plan to share my something closet with you over the foreseeable next. I plan to share cool ideas I hear, see and feel. We can survive together.
