People will buy when they are ready to buy

buying - hiring - coffee

Same goes for hiring. People will hire when they are ready to hire. Candidates will change jobs when they are ready to change jobs. People will change when they are ready to change.

Convincing someone to buy something when they are not ready is like pushing a rope. But when they are ready to buy, watch out…

All your efforts show up when your buyer or candidate is ready to take action.

Any L.A. Laker basketball fans out there? If you have not established any common ground, it’s hard to sell your service or product. How about LeBron?

Knowing why they called you for an office visit helps.

Start by asking why they invited you to speak with them. I know a CEO who likes talented candidates and coffee. He only calls me when he wants candidates or free coffee. When he is ready of course.

Know your strengths.

At Secret Tech Sauce, our big strength is that we are not impersonal. We like to know our candidates and remember random things about them, like who their first music concert was.

The best products and talent win. If someone can find better and fresher coffee beans, than Sumato Coffee - go for it.  If someone gets a better candidate than what we can find at Secret Tech Sauce - go with them.

I would rather help someone win than help them hire bad talent.

It is simple but not easy.

People will go see a doctor when they are ready to go see a Doctor. People will change when they are ready to change - People will buy when they are ready to buy. People will hire when they are ready to hire.

PS - Are you ready to hire software engineers (Python, Java, Javascript, HTML, SQL, CSS, etc.) or perhaps some incredible data scientists (R, SQL, Tableau, etc.) - we have people ready for you.

PS2 - Coffee helps. Research has shown that when people hold something warm, it makes them more generous. That said, brew a cup of hot coffee and call me.
